This easy vegan garlic bread is a party favorite! Whenever there is garlic bread, it just disappears in a matter of minutes! It is crunchy, soft in the middle, and just the perfect amount of garlic (a LOT!).
If you are ever looking for a simple and go-to appetizer this is the one for you! It is absolutely delicious with some simple carrot potato soup on the side, or even as a starter before having some, shepherd's pie, some lasagna, one-pot lentil bolognese, or even some vegan gnocchi bake!
A French baguette or a french loaf - this is my favorite bread for garlic bread! You can also give it a go with any of your favorite bread as long as it is not a sweet bread.
Vegan butter - it is pretty easy to find vegan butter nowadays. However, if you can't find it, you can use the same amount of olive oil.
Garlic - I am a true garlic lover so this recipe has a lot of garlic in it! The secret is to mince it or chop it very finely.
Parsley - this is my favorite herb for garlic bread but you can always add some oregano too!

Step by step instructions
Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
Add vegan butter, garlic, and parsley to a bowl and mix well. If the vegan butter is not soft, warm it up for 15 seconds in the microwave.
Cut thick slices into the bread, but do not go all the way through. Transfer the bread to a baking tray. Put a teaspoon or two of the butter mixture between each slice, or between every other slice if you only want the garlic mixture on one side of the bread. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Tips and variations
Fresh parsley - this garlic bread is also super delicious with fresh coriander!
Possible additional toppings - as you might have guessed, you could absolutely cover the bread with some vegan cheese to make it extra indulgent!
How to store it
I have to tell you, it is very likely you won't have any leftovers from this garlic bread! But, if you do, just let it cool down and store it in an airtight container for a few days.
How to reheat it
If you have any leftovers, you can reheat them in several ways! You can heat it up on the microwave, on a toaster (it will be a bit full of garlic butter), or place it on a frying pan until toasted on each side.
Frequently asked questions
I honestly prefer it to dried parsley for this recipe but if you prefer, you can try it with dried parsley but decrease the amount to 2 teaspoons so that it doesn't overpower the garlic butter.
Garlic bread works very well with a french loaf or baguette as it toasts perfectly but it is also delicious with sourdough for example!
